Global Village Dubai to ring in 2026 with seven New Year countdowns
Fireworks and drone displays timed to global time zones
DUBAI – The Global Village is set to offer one of Dubai’s most distinctive New Year celebrations, welcoming 2026 seven times in a single night with fireworks and drone shows inspired by countries across Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
The destination will extend its operating hours on New Year’s Eve, opening its three gates from 4pm and remaining open until 2am. The celebrations are designed to reflect different global time zones, allowing visitors to experience multiple countdowns without leaving Dubai.
The New Year programme will combine international celebrations with Global Village’s signature mix of culture, entertainment and dining. Guests will be able to move between countdowns while exploring pavilions, attractions and live performances throughout the evening. Entry to the destination will be exclusive to women and families for the occasion.
Seven New Year countdowns
The seven New Year countdowns will each be marked by fireworks and coordinated drone shows, timed to mirror midnight in different parts of the world.
The first celebration will take place at 8pm with China, followed by Thailand at 9pm and Bangladesh at 10pm. India’s countdown will begin at 10.30pm, before Pakistan welcomes the New Year at 11pm.

Dubai’s own midnight celebration will take place at 12am, aligning with the UAE’s New Year.
The final countdown of the night will mark Turkey’s New Year at 1am, extending the festivities well into the early hours. Each display is planned as a standalone moment, allowing visitors to experience multiple New Year celebrations in one location.
Entertainment line-up
In addition to the countdowns, the Main Stage will host a live DJ performance throughout the evening, providing a continuous soundtrack to the celebrations. Global Village’s cultural offering will remain central to the experience, with 30 pavilions representing more than 90 cultures open to guests.
Shopping will continue across more than 3,500 outlets, offering products ranging from handicrafts and souvenirs to fashion and speciality goods. Dining options will also be a major feature of the night, with over 250 food outlets serving cuisines from around the world, reflecting the destination’s international theme.
Attractions open
Beyond the New Year shows, visitors will have access to Global Village’s wider entertainment zones. Areas such as the Floating Market, Happiness Street, Fiesta Street and the Dessert District will be open, allowing guests to move between celebrations and attractions throughout the evening.4
Carnaval will offer more than 200 rides and games, adding to the family-focused nature of the event. New and returning attractions, including Dragon Kingdom, Gardens of the World and The Little Wonderers for younger visitors, will also be available, creating a full-night programme that combines rides, cultural experiences and live entertainment.
